School of Design
Divya Chopra is an architect from T.V.B. School of Habitat Studies, New Delhi. She did her Masters in Architecture (M.Arch.) with specialization in Urban Design from School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi.
She is currently teaching and researching with specific interest towards contemporary urban issues and their manifestations in cities within the South Asian context. Another core area of her ongoing research lies in transforming rural Himalayan settlements where her engagement spans for more than ten years, first as a student of architecture and later as a design consultant towards formulating development guidelines for future directions of growth and change within these settlements. She has had the opportunity to participate in various international and national conferences, workshops and design charrettes.
Her present research revolves around notions of hybridity and manifestations of growing scenarios of fractured urbanism in the Indian context. She would like to engage within a multidisciplinary discourse to define possible directions for future urban spaces and the idea of public engagement in the city, through ‘art’ as one of the primary connected creative imaginations.
